Would you like to see additional shops in Uckfield?
If so, what type of additional shopping would you like to see?

Yes, please more shops as long as they're not charity shops, estate agents, takeaways or restaurants!

Do we really need more shops when there are so many charity shops and estate agents in the high street. There are even some empty units at the moment.
Some investment in the High Street could help to bring some variety back.
Perhaps Tesco could put some money in?

Keep uckfield as a small Market town shopping centre. There are plenty of big shopping centres around, Crawley, Brighton, Eastbourne, Tunbridge Wells.
Uckfield will grow and needs more housing. A large out of town Supermarket might be the solution...
Knock down Tesco and Extend Luxford Field and have a big out of town store...

i would like to see more shops opening with local people selling local produce, dairy, etc. and local people supporting them, do we really need so many charity shops? as for tesco expanding, no chance, our town is too small for a tesco mononpoly.

I agree more local produce shops would be great but big stores like tesco are killing small retailers. If this store goes ahead they will increase the number of non food lines they hold, probably have a cafe and be open 24/7. No small shops can sompete with that.
